Stutterers can sing without any hint of their speech impediment, children with autism so debilitating they cannot talk will communicate through melody, and more. People with Alzheimers have been shown to be able to hold onto musical functioning longer than other things.

So how can you start using music to boost your brainpower? Turn on the radio. According to a study by Stanford University, just listening to music is enough to heighten your brain activity and improve your attention level.
